Bing-Wei Mao graduated from the Chemistry Department of Fudan University in 1982, and received PhD in Chemistry from the University of Southampton (UK) in 1987. After postdoctoral works at Fudan University and Xiamen University, she settled down in Xiamen University and became Professor of Chemistry Department in 1996. Her main research interests center at new methods in electrochemistry and scanning probe microscopy (SPM), carrying out researches in the interdisciplinary fields of SPM, interfacial electrochemistry, nano- and surface science, and energy electrochemistry. She published over 190 peer reviewed papers. Currently, she serves as the co-chairs of the Advisory Committee of ChemElectroChem.
