Quincey Justman is Editor-in-Chief of Cell Systems. She earned her PhD in biophysics at the University of California, San Francisco, studying the relationship between network structure and function in the context of cell fate decisions. She did a post-doc at Harvard, where she studied how the physiology of single cells adapts to environmental change. She has been an editor at Cell Systems since 2015. She has a penchant for hard problems and a deep love for biology. The first three books on her shelf are Physical Biology of the Cell, The Elements of Style, and Anna Karenina.
