Amanda Monahan, Scientific editor, Cell Host & Microbe
Amanda Monahan is an Associate Editor at Cell Host & Microbe. She received her doctorate degree in 2015 from UMBC, where she employed the Drosophila model and synthetic chemistry to study the genetic regulation of cell migration and stem cell dynamics. She was an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in the lab of Neal Silverman, where she studied cytosolic innate immunity of the intestine and skin, working from Drosophila to mouse models and humans. She joined the Cell Host & Microbe team in 2018. Besides her love of microbes and genetics, she has a passion for travel and all things sports.
