Prof. Sanwen Huang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences and a member of the Academic Advisory Committee for Cell. His research integrates genomics, population genetics, and molecular biology to understand plant genome biology. He has laid foundational work for genome research in the Solanaceae and Cucurbitaceae families and pioneered the transformation of potato from a tetraploid clonal crop to a diploid seed-propagated crop through genome design.
