Haitao Yang is a Full Professor at Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS) of ShanghaiTech University. His research focuses on well-known infectious diseases, including COVID-19, Zika fever, AIDS and TB. His team combines structural and biochemical methods to study the essential drug targets for these diseases and to discover new therapeutics. Prof. Yang has won Tan Jiazhen Life Science Innovation Award, WuXi AppTec Life Science Award, Promega Award for Biochemistry and Shulan Young Scientist Medical Award. His study has won recognition in Top 10 Advances in Science and Technology among Chinese Universities in 2019 and Top 10 Scientific Advances in Life Sciences of China in 2019. His research has been recognized as one of 10 winners for Falling Walls Breakthroughs of the Year 2020 (life sciences category) and Top 10 Scientific Advances in Life Sciences of China in 2020.
