Miao-Chih Tsai completed her undergraduate studies in Taiwan and studied programmed cell death with Dr. Yi-Chun Wu at the National Taiwan University for her Masters before moving to Cambridge, UK to study C. elegans embryonic cell polarity for her PhD with Dr. Julie Ahringer at the Gurdon Institute. She then worked with Dr. Howard Chang at Stanford University to characterize the function of long noncoding RNAs as scaffolds for different protein complexes as a postdoctoral research fellow. She joined Cell Press in 2011 and is currently an Associate Editor at Molecular Cell. ​
