Dr. Woong- Yang Park earned MD and PhD from Seoul National University College of Medicine, and he was also trained in molecular oncology in Robert Darnell lab in Rockefeller University as a postdoctoral fellow. After returning to Seoul National University College of Medicine as a professor in Biochemistry, he set up his genomics lab to work on Mendelian genomics to understand the pathogenesis of rare diseases. In 2013, he moved to Samsung Medical Center and Sungkyunkwan University and founded Samsung Genome Institute. In SMC, he focus on clinical genomics to interpret patient genome for personalized healthcare.
