Lluis Quintana-Murci is a Professor at the Collège de France and the Institut Pasteur, where he has headed the Unit of Human Evolutionary Genetics since 2007. He also served as the Scientific Director of the Institut Pasteur from 2016 to 2017. His research focuses on understanding the demographic and adaptive history of human populations using genomic approaches, with a particular interest in pathogen-driven selection on the human genome. His lab also investigates the genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors driving variation in immune responses across various populations worldwide, thereby helping to lay the foundations of precision medicine related to infectious and non-infectious immune disorders. He is a member of EMBO, the Academia Europaea, and the French Academy of Sciences.
