Henning Fenselau

Henning Fenselau is Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research in Cologne, Germany. He is also principal investigator of the Policlinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Preventive Medicine at the University Hospital Cologne and of the Cologne Cluster of Excellence for Aging Research at the University of Cologne (CECAD). Dr. Fenselau obtained his MSc in Nutritional Science and completed his PhD in Neuroscience. After his postdoc in the laboratory of Prof. Bradford Lowell at Harvard Medical School (2013-2017), he was recruited by the Max Planck Society in 2017. His research group seeks to reveal the synaptic properties that organize the networks underlying systemic metabolism regulation. The overarching goal of his research is to provide the foundation for novel targeting strategies to combat prevalent diseases that are caused by dysregulation of neural networks, such as obesity.
