Caroline (Carrie) Sokol is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and a Principal Investigator at Massachusetts General in the Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her M.D./Ph.D. at Yale University where she worked in the laboratory of Dr. Ruslan Medzhitov. Carrie then completed her clinical training in Internal Medicine and Allergy/Immunology followed by her postdoctoral training with Dr. Andrew Luster at Massachusetts General Hospital. Spurred on by her interests in allergic diseases, allergen sensing, and the innate immune system, the Sokol lab studies the role of sensory neurons in allergen sensing and the neuroimmune interactions driving allergies and other immune mediated diseases.
