Prof. Yuping Lai received her Ph.D degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from East China Normal University in 2006. After her graduate school, which included an NIH/NIAID predoctoral fellowship, Dr. Lai joined Dr. Richard L. Gallo lab in University of California at San Diego and began to investigate how skin commensals shape skin physiology. At the beginning of 2010, she moved back to East China Normal University to establish skin immunology laboratory. Now the research interest in Prof. Lai’s Lab is focused on: 1) Alternative splicing and immune response in keratinocytes; 2) Keratinocytes or fibroblasts with innate immune memory and the relapse of inflammatory skin diseases; 3) skin microbiome and skin aging.
