Hans-Georg Sprenger

Hans-Georg Sprenger is a Research Group Leader and Principal Investigator at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing and CECAD in Cologne focusing on molecular metabolism and energy homeostasis in ageing and age-associated diseases. Sprenger earned his PhD from the University of Cologne working on mitochondrial protein homeostasis and inflammation in the lab of Thomas Langer. Subsequently he joined the labs of David M. Sabatini and Bruce M. Spiegelman at MIT and Harvard Medical School as a Hope Funds Fellow, where he studied the role of mitochondrial metabolism in exercise.
