Shawnna Buttery brings her broad expertise in publishing and her curiosity for all things biology as the Editor in Chief of Cell Reports.  Shawnna’s training in the laboratory was in cell biology, studying the cytoskeleton in nematodes as a graduate student at Florida State and in budding yeast as a postdoc at Dana-Faber Cancer Institute. In 2012, she joined Elsevier as a Scientific Editor for the journal BBA and then moved to Cell Press as an editor at Cell Reports. She launched STAR Protocols in 2019 and returned to Cell Reports as EIC in 2023.
