- Lulu Cambronne, University of Texas, USA
Assistant Professor Cambronne leads a research program that develops and uses genetically encoded fluorescent biosensors to dynamically monitor intracellular metabolites in live cells with subcellular precision. With these tools, her group obtains subcellular measurements of free NAD+, identifies mechanisms supporting human cell respiration, and establishes new vulnerabilities for drug-resistant cancers and other intractable diseases. Her research has been honored by a 2017 NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, a 2020 Pew Scholar Award in Biomedical Sciences, 2020 and 2021 Scialog Fellow Appointments, and a 2022 William H. Tonn Fellow Appointment.
