Claudia Kemper, NIH NHLBI, USA
Claudia Kemper is the Chief of the Complement and Inflammation Research Section (CIRS) at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland and an Adjunct Professor of the University of Lübeck in Germany. Her research focusses on the non-canonical roles of intracellular complement in the regulation of basic cell physiology in health and disease. Claudia Kemper received her PhD from the Bernhard-Nocht-Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg, Germany, and performed her postdoctoral work at Washington University in Saint Louis. After establishing her independent research program as Professor at King’s College London, UK, she moved her group to the NIH in 2017.
