Dr. Xuetao Cao is the Professor and Director of Center for Immunotherapy, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Founder Director of National Key Laboratory of Medical Immunology. He was the past President of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, past President of Peking Union Medical College, and past President of Nankai University. He was elected as member of Chinese Academy of Engineering (2005), German Academy of Sciences, EMBO, UK Academy of Medical Sciences, US National Academy of Medicine, American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He severed the editorial board of Cell during 2015-2021, and now severing editorial board of Immunity.

Dr. Cao's major research interests are innate immunity and inflammation, cancer immunotherapy. His group has made contributions to the identification of novel molecules in dendritic cell function, epigenetic and metabolic regulation of antiviral innate immunity and inflammation, deciphering nucleic acid-sensing inflammation in cancer immunoevasion, and translational research of cancer immunotherapy.
