Charles Mullighan is Member in the Department of Pathology, Co-leader of the Hematological Malignancies Program and Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center of St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A native of Australia, he trained in medicine, hematology and hematopathology in Adelaide, with doctoral studies in immunogenetics at the University of Oxford. He joined St Jude as a postdoctoral fellow in 2004, and faculty in 2008. His research spans genomic discovery, experimental modeling and translational research in acute leukemia, with a focus on defining the mechanistic basis and vulnerabilities of high risk leukemia. He has published over 250 papers, and has been recognized by awards including the American Society of Hematology William Dameshek Prize, The Meyenburg Prize for Cancer Research, and an NCI Outstanding Investigator Award.
