Speaker
Jeff Rathmell, Vanderbilt University, USA
Dr. Rathmell studies mechanisms that regulate lymphocyte fate and differentiation in inflammatory diseases and cancer with a focus on immunometabolism. Following a PhD in Immunology at Stanford University and postdoctoral studies that showed the metabolism of lymphocytes was dynamically regulated he began at Duke University in 2003 in the departments of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology and Immunology. His lab was the first to show that functionally distinct T lymphocyte populations each require unique metabolic programs. In 2015 he moved to direct the Vanderbilt Center for Immunobiology and Host Tumor Interactions Program of the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center.
