David Howey is a Professor of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. He received his MEng from Cambridge University and PhD from Imperial College London. His research focuses on battery modelling and control, where he has co-authored 120+ peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, filed 7 patents, and is the recipient of grant funding from UKRI, the EU, Faraday Institution, and several companies. Howey is organiser of the award-winning Oxford Battery Modelling Symposium and sits on the editorial boards of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics and Oxford Open Energy. He is co-founder of battery spin-out company, Brill Power Ltd., who raised $10M in 2022.
