Dr. Ina Vollmer is an assistant professor at Utrecht University (UU). She is looking for pathways to recycle plastics to chemicals using catalysis for cracking, mild oxidation, photo-oxidation, hydrothermal conversion and mechanochemistry. She studied chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (graduation 2015) and completed a doctorate at Delft University of Technology under the supervision of Freek Kapteijn and Jorge Gascon (graduation 2019). After a two-year postdoc on chemical recycling of plastic and nanoplastics detection at UU, she was appointed as assistant professor in 2021. She received the Dutch Veni grant for independent research the same year.
