Saberi

Sara Saberi with a Ph.D. in Operations and Industrial Engineering, is an Assistant Professor at WPI. She has also earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration, specializing in Management Science, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2016. Her research primarily focuses on the convergence of supply chain management, Blockchain technology, game theory, and network optimization. Her scholarly contributions, notably in logistics and operations management, are published in prestigious journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Research Part E, and the International Journal of Production Research, and she is a regular participant in relevant academic conferences. She has been an active peer reviewer for several esteemed academic journals and has been a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Transportation Research Part E (TRE) journal since January 2019. Dr. Saberi has spearheaded two significant research initiatives with a focus on Blockchain and sustainable supply chains, funded by the APICS Research Grant on The Future of Supply Chains and a collaborative grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the Environmental Law Institute, which delves into the energy and environmental ramifications of the digital economy. In addition, she has led two other funded projects aimed at creating networks that enhance the adaptability and scalability of manufacturing ecosystems. This initiative, supported by the NSF and the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), is designed to bolster the resilience of supply chains.
