Dr Iacovidou is an expert and thought leader in the lifecycle sustainability assessment of resources and waste management systems using a systems-based approach. Her research work informs policy development and supports strategic decision-making in multiple sectors in the UK and internationally. For over 10 years she has been leading and delivering a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary and industrial projects in multiple spatial contexts that champion resource efficiency, circularity, and governance. She is co-founder and Deputy Director of the Centre of Pollution Research and Policy and the Sustainable Plastics Research Hub (SPlasH). She is a chemist by training with expertise in environmental engineering and holds a PhD in environmental management and policy research from Imperial College London.
