Eugene

Eugene Chen is a University Distinguished Professor, the John Stille Endowed Chair Professor in Chemistry, and the Millennial Professor of Polymer Science and Sustainability at Colorado State University. He earned his Ph.D. from The University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1995. After a postdoctoral stint at Northwestern University, he joined The Dow Chemical Company. After he was promoted to Project Leader two and a half years later, he moved to Colorado State University in 2000. His current research programs are centered on polymer science, sustainable chemistry, and molecular catalysis. Specifically pertinent to this Cell Symposium, his research redesigns intrinsically circular polymers, biodegradable plastics, and mono-material products.
