Steven Banik

Steven Banik conducted his Ph.D. work at Harvard University with Prof. Eric Jacobsen on catalytic difluorination of organic molecules and new approaches for generating and controlling reactive cationic intermediates in asymmetric catalysis. He was an NIH and Burroughs CASI postdoctoral fellow advised by Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi at Stanford where he developed targeted protein degradation from the extracellular space with lysosome targeting chimeras (LYTACs). Dr. Banik is currently an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Sarafan ChEM-H Institute Scholar at Stanford University. Research in his laboratory research centers on manipulating mammalian biology and chemical biotechnology development using molecular design and construction.
