Organizers

Mishtu has been the in-house editor of two Cell Press journals, Structure and Cell Chemical Biology, since 2018. She has taken responsibility as the chief editor of Cell Chemical Biology in July 2021. Before assuming the editorship at Cell Press, Mishtu was on the faculty at University of Iowa's Chemistry Department with a research program focused on the chemical biology of key metabolic enzymes. She completed her PhD in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay followed by postdoctoral training in chemical biology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Michigan. She then continued her training as an HHMI research scientist at MIT in structural biology.

Mishtu has always maintained a strong interest in, and appreciation for, the field of chemical biology. She has broad scientific expertise and enjoys guiding the editorial process and helping our authors share their exciting research work. She values mentoring young scientists to help strengthen their education, is committed to promoting early-stage investigators and junior faculty and is a huge proponent of diversity and inclusion in science.
