John Marioni, EMBL-European Bioinformatics Institute, UK
John Marioni is a senior group leader at the CRUK Cambridge Institute at the University of Cambridge, a research group leader at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) and an associate faculty member at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. John received a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Edinburgh, followed by an MPhil in Statistical Science and a PhD in the group of Simon Tavaré at the University of Cambridge. Following his PhD, he was a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Chicago, where he was supervised by Matthew Stephens.
